Regulatory Developments & Programs (\"RDP\") is accountable for the centralized management of emerging regulatory changes that impact BMO Capital Markets across all jurisdictions in which it operates. RDP runs a defined regulatory change management process which includes regulatory intake, tracking and implementation of Capital Markets regulatory change initiatives through to transition to business as usual (\"BAU\").. Reporting into Director, CM RDP, this role will be responsible for:. Understanding and articulating regulatory change. Leading projects and or workstreams through the regulatory change process. Evaluating business processes, anticipating requirements, understand regulatory requirements, and developing and implementing solutions. Effectively communicating to cross-functional team members and stakeholders (business and IT). Conducting meetings and presentations (working groups, Operating Committees). Ensuring solutions meet regulatory needs and requirements as well as business needs and requirements. Working with business and IT to align and deliver on regulatory objectives across work streams. Developing and delivering impactful presentation that communicates change, requests or requirements:. Providing leadership, training, coaching, and guidance to team members and impacted stakeholders. Managing competing resources and priorities. Monitoring deliverables and ensuring timely completion of activities and projects. Qualifications. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, industrious, pragmatic-yet strategic, and able to achieve results with indirect authority. He/she should be comfortable working in a virtual environment with team members & stakeholders located across the globe. The candidate will be a strong team player capable of building strong relationships. He/she should have superior communication skills, both verbal and written, and excel in their ability to explain complex business and/or technical concepts to stakeholders across a wide spectrum of business areas.. Core Requirements:. A university degree (preferably in engineering, finance, business management, or similar). 7+ years' experience in Capital Markets. Demonstrated work experience (Hands-on experience working on business change solutions and/or regulatory change initiatives). A strong knowledge of financial instruments, ranging from derivative products to foreign exchange. An understanding of the Front Office financial product lifecycle: Origination, Primary Market Secondary Market and the associated business activities such as Settlements, Risk Management, Operations & Accounting. Strong understanding of market, credit, and operational risk. Working knowledge and expertise using software, such as Microsoft Project, MS Visio, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Word, SharePoint. Experience managing resources in a project setting. Soft Skills:. Superior analytical, reasoning and communication skills. Ability to clearly synthesize complex problem, focuses on what matters, guides others and communicates solutions to business leaders and executive stakeholder groups. A high level of professionalism, ethics and integrity. A demonstrated ability to develop strong client relationships. Nice to Have's:. Consulting experience highly desirable. Experience in handling regulatory compliance rules required by key US regulators (SEC, FINRA, OCC, DTCC). Project management certifications and / or equivalent experience. CFA highly desirable.
